I’ve been seeing numerous good lacrosse tales about African-People within the sport. The main target of competitors has remained on the Subsequent Collegiate League for males, and the NCAA for the ladies.

This brings me to what may very well be a sticking level for the NCL’s eventual mission: will the league begin a ladies’s competitors?

I do know that there are usually not many pockets of feminine lacrosse gamers on the nation’s historically-Black faculties and universities, however there are sufficient, I believe, for lacrosse sixes if sufficient curiosity is proven.

Take, for instance, Morgan State. The ladies’s membership crew appears to have sufficient for a full-field squad, if not a sixes crew to get their competitors in till the time of turning into a varsity.

I’d prefer to see, maybe, smaller HBCUs with sufficient curiosity to begin sixes groups below the Olympic guidelines. And, as Kelly Amonte-Hiller confirmed to devastating impact 20 years in the past, athletes may be transformed and tailored to lacrosse in a remarkably quick time period.

All it takes is initiative.
